The promising 14-year-old artist, who was signed to Sony Music Latin in September, plays guitar and accordion, and stands out for his fusion of regional Mexican, hip-hop, reggae and R&B. Vega follows in the footsteps of his late uncle corrido singer Sergio “El Shaka” Vega and older brother Cornelio Vega.
“Ramon Vega has the same attitude, style and vision of this new generation of Latin music that is looking to incorporate their own identity with traditional sounds that stick to their roots and globalize them in ways that have no limits,” Alex Gallardo, president of Sony Music Latin, previously told Billboard. “His energy and talent represent the potential of these emerging artists, and we are thrilled to welcome him to the Sony Music family.”
