Kelly Clarkson Celebrates Veterans Day With a Soulful Performance of ‘America the Beautiful’

Kelly Clarkson honored those who have served our country on Veterans Day (Nov. 11) with a patriotic Kellyoke performance of Ray Charles’ “America the Beautiful.”

The vertical screen panels that are usually set up to project The Kelly Clarkson Show‘s virtual audience instead featured floating stars, while red, white and blue lights lit up the stage and American flags adorned the back. Later on in the show, Clarkson invited members of the U.S. Armed Forces to serve as audience members for her special episode dedicated to them.

Charles’ soulful recording of the patriotic hymn hit Billboard‘s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart in 1976 and was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2005.
